The Mount Penna circular route is designed to relive a very important moment in the history of Montecreto, and especially the outlying hamlet of Acquaria.
The route is 6 km in total, with a difference in altitude of 200 metres.
The route runs along a mixture of tarmacked road, dirt road and trail.
The Mount Penna (Acquaria) route is of historical interest and retraces the areas where the famous battle of the same name, known as ‘The Battle of Mount Penna’, took place.
The route covers the sites where the partisans of the Modena Mountain Brigade clashed with Nazi-Fascist troops on Mount Penna.
It is a circular route, enriched by 13 information boards which tell of the history of the place and the battle.
