BY CAR
The Modena Apennines and Mount Cimone can be reached from the A1 “Autostrada del Sole” motorway, coming off at the junction for Modena Nord and taking the “Nuova Estense” main road to reach the towns and villages to the west, or the junction for “Modena Sud” to reach the towns and villages further east, following the signs for Vignola.
Coming from Tuscany, you can take the Pistoia junction of the A11 “Firenze-Mare” motorway, continuing northwards and either crossing the Abetone Pass or continuing on to Porretta Terme.
BY TRAIN
The nearest railway stations are Modena and Pistoia. Bus services connect Bologna, Modena, Pavullo nel Frignano, Florence and Pistoia with the main tourist destinations in the Modena Apennines. Coming from Bologna, you can take the suburban train line that connects Bologna Central Station to the town of Vignola; from here you can continue by bus.
