The Via Romea Germanica Imperiale is one of the historic walks through the Modena Apennines.
It connects Trento with Arezzo, and the whole route is over 560 km long.
You can travel along it in many ways: on foot, by mountain bike and e-bike, and soon also on horseback.
This can be done both independently, and in organised groups.
The number of stages can be adjusted depending on individual preference, and the accommodation network, which is constantly being updated, allows for autonomous and flexible planning; days can be made shorter or longer according to circumstances and requirements. Below you can find one possible proposal, divided into 24 stages. You can also decide to cover the route bit by bit, if you don’t have time to do it all at once: here we propose week-long sections, which are quite similar from a geo-morphological point of view.
The route from Trento to Arezzo can be covered in 4/8 days by bike or e-bike.
The trail is marked out by stickers decorated with the route logo, and yellow-painted signs.
The stages that touch on our territory in particular are:
– Stage 12 from Torre Maina to Pavullo nel Frignano;
– Stage 13 from Pavullo to Montecreto;
– Stage 14 from Montecreto to Fiumalbo;
– Stage 15 from Fiumalbo to Cutigliano.
